“(Yoga Clubs) are becoming more and more common,” STC Superintendent Jared Smith told the board. He said yoga can “give kids a chance to relax and not stress.”

Students Kaisha Wanatee and Richelle Werner put together a petition in support of forming the club and gathered more than 150 student signatures in support.

They sought Forcht as the club sponsor because “she uses some yoga exercises in theatre and speech to help students with nervousness and to prepare for performance.”
