Stella McCartney says that the evening wedding dress that she designed for the Duchess of Sussex reflected her human side.
The designer created a silk crepe halter-neck style for the royal to wear as she and Harry departed Windsor Castle for their reception at Frogmore House. The bride teamed the understated look with droplet Cartier earrings, white court shoes and a chic chignon.
“You know it was very much her dress,” McCartney told the BBC. “And I felt very proud that she came to me for that part of the wedding, and that she got to reflect her in it.”
McCartney, who had been linked to the royal wedding prior to the day itself, said that she and the Duchess had worked collaboratively on the gown.
“We worked together,” she said. “When you come to a wedding, you don’t just just go, ‘here, this is what you’re wearing.’ That person has to feel a million dollars; they need to feel like they own it.”
