Yoga with Pranayama, a six-week series on Tuesday with Kristen Niemi, begins July 17 and runs until Aug. 28 (no class on Aug. 7) from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Waterbury Public Library’s SAL room, 28 N. Main St.
Pranayama the formal practice of controlling the breath, or prana, the life force. Breathing exercises and yoga poses will start simply and become more challenging as the series advances. In combination, the whole body strengthens and revitalizes.
Bring a yoga mat, cushion or pillow to sit on and a water bottle. The class is limited to 12 participants.
