A HEADLESS body has been found hanging upside down from a tree in the search for a “vulnerable” Irish tourist who vanished from a yoga retreat in India.
Liga Skromane, 33, was believed to have been suffering from post- traumatic depression when she disappeared from Kovalam, Kerala last month.
Although police are yet to identify the remains, Liga’s sister said she’d identified the body as her sibling’s as she paid tribute to her.
Footage shows the body being carried away by emergency services following the grim discovery on Friday.
Liga, 33, had been living in Dublin for the past five years with her Irish partner Andrew Jordan, from Swords.
The 35-year-old feared Liga had been snatched by organ harvesters and flew to Delhi last month in a desperate bid to trace her.
He told the Irish Sunday Mirror at the time: “I’ve hardly slept thinking about what could have happened to her.
“I’ve walked through those backstreets and there’s a very high chance she was abducted. There is a known organ trafficking trade from that country on the black market.
“Someone could be holding her in a cage in that 35 degree heat.
“This is what’s going through my head.”
