Don’t worry, psychologist Melissa Ferrari told Whimn that it’s easy to see why this sort of behaviour is so tempting, and so easy to fall into:

“Yes, there are people who are out there that deliberately manipulate and lie, but most people who kittenfish don’t mean to be deceptive.

“It’s just the reality of dating in 2017, and they want to give themselves the best odds.

“It’s a reflection of the difficulties people in the world of dating face today because they feel they are competing and being judged.”
