Valentine’s Day 2019 is days away, and while some couples have had plans in the works for months, others may be struggling to pull something together on rather short notice. Whatever the case, The Red & Black’s got you covered with nine ideas for Valentine’s Day activities in the Athens area, perfect for those who want to add on to their special night or simply get their plans started.

For the Couple that likes to try new things

1. Will You Be My Yoga Valentine? at M3Yoga

Does a loved one or friend have a membership or pass at M3Yoga? Then celebrate Valentine’s Day by restoring your body at a yoga class on Feb. 14. The class is offered through M3Yoga’s Share the Love initiative which looks for innovative ideas and events to spread yoga to the community. Classes will be offered all day from 6 a.m.-8:30 p.m., giving lots of chances for yogis to spread the love. If you don’t have a membership and are still interested, a one class pass can be purchased for $20 per person.

2. Custom Cocktail Workshop

Those who like to play bartender in their own homes may enjoy creating original cocktails with a loved one at Live Wire Athens’ second annual Custom Cocktail Workshop. Participants will make, taste and name original recipes while sampling Live Wire’s signature cocktails — all the while enjoying hors d’oeuvres. Sessions for the workshop will be held at 5 and 8 p.m., and tickets are available for a limited time online.

For the Student couple

3. Student Night: Valentines Day Edition

For the artistic couple, spending Valentine’s Day at the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens might sound like a dream come true. Students can try flower pressing, marvel at beautiful art and try chocolate fondue. There will also be games with prizes, crafts and photo booths — perfect for taking an Instagram-worthy photo with your significant other.
