“It takes a while for [you] to recognize and be open to someone being a one, special person,” says Mitz, since you have so many people in your life – friends, family – that you love. In addition, you’re independent by nature, and are reluctant to give that up for a relationship. So you’ll take longer to fall in love because you want to keep the freedom your single life provides. “But in the end, [you] can be quite loyal,” says Mitz.
Of course, these are generalizations. If you meet someone incredibly special, the “rules” might go straight out the window — and you might fall in love at first sight.
